Neapco Notables | Marta Cieśla, Assistant to Management

In this edition of Neapco Notables, we highlight Marta Cieśla, Assistant to Management at Neapco Poland. Over the years, Marta has shown her passion for helping those around her and has created a long-lasting impact on our team members and their families and the communities they are a part of.

Marta tells us about what brought her to Neapco, her favorite parts about working here, and her life outside the office.

Tell us how you got started at Neapco.

I worked in Neapco before I worked for Neapco. I was a receptionist for a security company at Neapco for about two years before I officially joined the team in 2011 as a management assistant. At that time, the president of the board was looking for a new assistant because his current assistant was retiring. He encouraged me to take on the role, and despite my apprehension, accepting this position ended up being the best decision of my life.

What does your day-to-day look like?

I am not like a stereotypical coffee-making secretary. While I do play an important role in the organizational and administrative aspects of the management team, I also get to be involved in many exciting initiatives at Neapco. Alongside my coworkers, I’ve helped put together employee festivals, factory open days, forest clean-ups, charity events and much more. Some of our more prominent initiatives include our blood drive, which we hold about 4-5 times a year, and the annual Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity, where we raise funds for a Polish foundation that supports purchasing medical equipment.

What do you enjoy most about working at Neapco?

I love organizing events for employees and their families. We often have team members and their families come in for art competitions and my favorite part is being able to put together an exhibition of everyone’s work. We also host a Children’s Day event and I get to put together a ton of different activities for the kids like animations, contests and competitions, food and drinks, and more. Other similar events include our Family Day, which welcomes over 500 parents and their children, and our Santa Claus event which brings in as many as 300 guests.

Another big part of my work life is being a member of Neapco’s Global Belonging Council. We support a variety of charitable organizations that help children in need, collect food donations around Christmas time and help organize the sales of handmade decorations during the holiday season. It’s great to give back to the community and learn things along the way about any future initiatives we get to be involved in.

What are your favorite things to do outside of work?

I love spending time with my two kids, Kinga and Antoś. We enjoy taking trips together and spending time outdoors, including going on walks and taking bike rides down by the river.
