Neapco Notables | Geraldine Schöller, HR Business Partner

At Neapco, every team member contributes to our success, from manufacturing to communications to human resources. Geraldine Schöller, an HR Business Partner based in Germany, is dedicated to fostering a supportive and dynamic learning environment that makes every day at work rewarding.

In this edition of Neapco Notables, we highlight Geraldine’s invaluable role within the HR team and her contributions to the company. She plays a crucial part in our components team and vehicle assembly line.

Geraldine emphasizes the importance of continuous improvement and embracing new challenges. Her focus on nurturing personnel not only enhances individual careers but also strengthens the entire organization.

Tell us a bit about yourself and where you’re from. What is your educational and professional background?

My name is Geraldine Schöller, I am 36 years old and a mother to two sons — 12-year-old Phil and four-year-old Anton. After primary and secondary school, I completed an apprenticeship as an industrial clerk. Post apprenticeship, I spent a year working as an industrial clerk and completed my industrial training at a window and door manufacturer.

When did you join the Neapco team? How has your role changed over time?

In 2010, I moved to the Düren area and started at Neapco as an agency employee in the HR department. In July 2011, I was offered a full-time position at Neapco as an HR administrator. From 2012 to 2013, I was on parental leave. After my return, I was promoted to take over the tasks of an HR Business Partner.

Tell us about your current role at Neapco. How did your prior experiences prepare you for this position?

Currently, I’m the main contact for supervisors and employees in the components area and vehicle assembly, where I manage all personnel matters in collaboration with the works council. Additionally, I oversee support for employees with severe disabilities, handling subsidies and grants. I also co-manage the local Global Belonging Council, alongside my colleague Melanie Jakob. With my extensive professional experience and my journey as a working mother, I’ve developed strong skills in multitasking and time management.

What is the most important lesson you have learned while working at Neapco?

One of the most important lessons I’ve learned so far is that the best way to solve a problem is by communicating openly and honestly with each other. As an HR professional, I always try to bring all parties together, which is something I have been told I am highly appreciated for.

What do you enjoy most about working at Neapco?

I enjoy being a part of our amazing HR team. I have the best people on my team and know I can always count on them to support me. We have grown together over the years, building a strong connection that allows us to better understand the strengths and weaknesses of one another.

I also really appreciate the opportunity to take on a wide variety of tasks and engage in new situations with different team members. Every day is different and we are constantly being challenged to learn or try something new.

Are there any upcoming projects you’re excited about, and what is your role in them?

As a member of the Global Belonging Council, we’re currently planning some exciting campaigns for the Düren site. I’m looking forward to seeing how these initiatives unfold, as well as how we can share ideas across plants. Being a part of this team allows me to implement valuable programs that recognize the diverse perspectives of our employees, helping to strengthen our team spirit and cohesion.

What are your favorite things to do outside of work?

I enjoy spending time with my children, our dog, and meeting up with friends to go to concerts. Apart from this, I am also a part of a dance show group, where I spent a lot of time practicing new dances and designing new costumes.
