Neapco Notables | Alejandra Arzate Coello, Finance Superintendent
Each of our individual team members and collective departments play crucial roles in the success of Neapco. No part of the business goes unnoticed as departments work cross-functionally with one another to grow and achieve department and company-wide goals.
In this edition of Neapco Notables, we highlight Alejandra Arzate Coello, a Finance Superintendent at our Saltillo location. Alejandra has a diverse career history, bringing 11 years of experience in the automotive industry to the Neapco team.
Alejandra shared with us some more about her career path, experiences at Neapco and more.
Tell us a bit about your career journey and role at Neapco.
Since earning my degree in Accounting, I have had the opportunity to work in a variety of different industries. I spent some time working in the food industry at Simplot Mexico, and then worked for a magazine company, Reader’s Digest. I then moved over to the automotive
manufacturing industry and worked for Affinia Mexico and Mann+Hummel before landing at Neapco.
I started at Neapco in 2022 after one of my former bosses invited me to apply for a Finance Superintendent position. In my role, I work on various projects that involve company taxes, payroll, travel expenses control, and accounts payable supervision projects. I really enjoy being a part of the finance team because I can learn about all aspects of accounting, from reporting and auditing to financial statements. Being able to specialize in taxes has helped me better understand the state of our company and how we must comply with Mexican laws and regulations.
What do you enjoy most about Neapco?
I am a big fan of Neapco’s sustainability programs and community support initiatives. Neapco’s efforts to care for our planet and the people around us showcase that our team is truly focused on growing the company and trying to make it a great place to work day in and day out.
I also enjoy how much communication is prioritized across the team and between our facilities. Having that open communication across all levels and departments of the company plays an extremely important role in how our teams collaborate and come together to deliver value to our customers. We can resolve conflict efficiently and create a supportive environment for everyone,
which has allowed me to achieve my personal and professional goals as well as goals for my department and Neacpo as a whole.
Are you involved in any programs or initiatives at Neapco?
I am a part of the Neapco Working Conditions Committee, Great Place to Work Committee, ISO 14001, and the First Aid Brigade. What I love the most about these committees is how they have helped me become more proactive and develop creative thinking skills. I can play an active role in driving positive change in our workplace while creating meaningful connections with my colleagues — including those from other departments that I may have never had the opportunity to get to know otherwise.
How do you spend your time outside of work?
Outside of work, my family and I collect food and other goods to donate to people in need. We have been donating for more than 12 years because there are many marginalized communities near where my parents live, and we want to be able to help in any way possible. I have loved being able to support those around me, and it has helped me become more empathetic in my
personal and professional life.
My favorite thing to do outside of work is travel. Whether across Mexico or abroad, I love stepping foot in a new town with new cultures, foods, and customs. I also love exploring new places outdoors with my family and finding new activities we can partake in.
