Neapco is currently seeking to fill the full-time position of Human Resources Manager at our South East Michigan facility. Compensation dependent upon qualifications.

Job Description:

  • Leads all recruiting and onboarding activities for the facility
  • Develops employee retention strategies, evaluates employee morale and leads team member appreciation events
  • Maintains team member benefit programs, open enrollment, and team member training on available benefits
  • Monitors and implements team member performance appraisal system, training managers and assisting with development of performance improvement plans
  • Performs training needs assessments, partnering with departmental managers to develop and administer training plans
  • Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues
  • Investigates and resolves team member grievances; counsels team members and supervisors; trains managers on coaching and discipline of employees
  • Advises management and union officials on development, application, and interpretation of company labor relations policies and practices
  • Analyzes collective bargaining agreement to interpret intent, spirit, and terms of contract
  • Monitors implementation of policies concerning wages, hours, and working conditions to ensure compliance to labor contract terms
  • Represents management in labor contract negotiations
  • Maintains compliance with all policies, procedures, and governmental regulations (i.e. OSHA, NLRB, EEOC, DOL, etc.)
  • Coordinates and prepares legal documentation for unemployment hearings
  • Manages health and safety initiatives, workers compensation, and risk management strategies
  • Oversees the maintenance, communication, and legal compliance of team member records as required by federal law, state law, and company policy
  • Develops annual departmental budget, identifying budgetary needs and monitoring spending
  • Tracks and reports status of performance to objective of Human Resources KPIs
  • Supervises work activities of Human Resources staff; conducts annual performance reviews, suggests opportunities for career development
  • Works with Global Human Resources Leadership Team to establish best practices and unified procedures
  • Communicates and trains facility team members regarding corporate initiatives, polices, and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Experience with UAW or other union represented workforce required
  • Minimum of five years of Human Resources Management experience in a manufacturing environment, including labor relations responsibilities



  • Bachelor’s Degree with Human Resource Management focus or equivalent from an accredited college or university
