Neapco is currently seeking to fill the position of full-time (CAD Designer). This position is based out of our Beatrice, Nebraska production facility. Compensation dependent upon qualifications.

Job Description:

 

  • Operates computer-aided design (CAD) system and peripheral equipment to convert engineers’ and technicians’ designs into working computer documents.
  • Reviews engineering drawings and designs to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards.
  • Confers with engineering and design staff to determine design modifications and enters editing information into computer.
  • Locates files relating to specific design projection into database library and loads program into computer.
  • Reviews work orders and procedural manuals to determine critical dimensions of designs.
  • Calculates figures to convert design dimensions to resizing dimensions specified for subsequent production processes.
  • Keys in specified information to produce graphic representation (hard copy) of design for review and approval by engineering and design staff.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.

Preferred Skills:

 

  • Familiarity with castings and forgings.
  • Familiarity with GD&T concepts and awareness of Automotive OEM requirements.
  • Expert in solid modeling techniques for robust designs and parametric models.
  • Solid background in computer-aided drafty and design techniques.
  • Minimum of six (6) years of experience in CAD design of automotive components.
  • Proficiency with Catia V5, Teamcenter, UG desired.
  • Awareness of Enovia V6 desired (but not required).
  • Familiarity with CAD concepts, practices and procedures in the automotive manufacturing industry.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of applications.
  • High level of initiative and work well in a team environment.
  • Motivated, goal oriented, professional.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Ability to read 2D prints and GD&T.
  • Ability to plan and carry out responsibilities with minimal direction. 

Education: 

  • Postsecondary school training with courses in math, science, and computer technology.
